Into the Deep I
I began open water swimming in June 2021 to help combat the long-lasting negative effects on my mental, physical, and emotional health because of the COVID-19 pandemic. And yes, that’s right, I thought it’d be a great time to jump in at the start of our Australian winter! Playing in the shallows, adjusting to the cold water, for the first few weeks, eventually I was able to go out deeper and deeper into the bay, even on rough, choppy days. This shot was taken in August 2021 and was the first image that really spoke to me of being out in the deep, the waves ebbing and flowing around me, a vast ocean stretched out before my eyes. This print hangs in the bedroom and will always hold a special place in my heart.
Each photograph is printed on the Mornington Peninsula, on fine art MOAB matt paper. Limited editions only. See more details below.
